The Conformists / Midwestless / Deluxe Edition / Vinyl LP
Midwestless is the fifth and latest album from St. Louis rock trio The Conformists. Recorded once again with Al Beanie at Electrical Audio, it marks their first full-length release as a trio.
Formed in 1996 in a Southern Illinois basement, The Conformists initially set out to create what they called “Ugly Rock Music.” Over time, their sound has evolved to incorporate moments of beauty and melody, juxtaposed with their trademark dissonance. The album features insistent repetition and layers of intricate details that reveal themselves with repeated listens.
Midwestless is the second entry in our Standard Releases series, offered in both Standard and Deluxe editions. The Deluxe version includes Computer Students’ signature Type-2 aluminum packaging and a massive double-sided poster, perfect for fans who want something extra.
(Note: While the band previously released a self-recorded track as a trio for a 2021 benefit compilation, this album stands as their first substantial studio work in this configuration.)
